City(e)scapes Series: Sacred & Profane Architecture – TAIWAN

Ultra Urban ≡

The architecture of Taiwan represents a crossroads of the cultures that have passed through the island and left their impressions.  Japanese, Chinese, and Spanish have all spent time there…

The visual tapestry that results is a vivid mix.  We see new and traditional, modern and ancient, hard concrete angles, carved wood and soft smiles.

The City is a wild backdrop for the beautiful people. Full of energy, always dynamic- the sounds, the fragrances- the city buzzes with energy as it reaches up and out to meet the future.

Not that I’m in any way an expert in building styles- only an observer, frequently an admirer.
